Cunard’s Pavilion Wellness Cafe: What is it, Where is it, and is it any good? Here’s my Review.

The ‘Pavilion Wellness Cafe’ was first introduced to the Cunard fleet onboard Queen Anne. Since the launch of this ship, I’ve heard mixed reviews about this dining option, and so I was really excited to get onboard the ship to try it out for myself. Did I enjoy it, or was it a flop? In this post, I’m going to tell you more about the Pavilion Wellness Cafe, and also offer you my verdict.

Let’s get started on the Pavilion Cafe. First up, where is it?

Here’s the Wellness Cafe onboard Cunard’s Queen Anne!

The Pavilion Wellness Cafe is found within the Pavilion area of the ship. In this area, you’re going to find the main onboard swimming pool, a grill, ice cream shop, and a bar. This section of the ship is underneath the huge retractable roof, so you don’t need to worry too much about the weather. If it’s cold (or raining), they’ll have the roof closed. If it’s warm and sunny (we can hope, right…?), then you’ll find the roof in here open.

On Queen Anne, you’ll find the main pool on Deck 9, with the Cafe we’re looking at today up on Deck 10. That means that, from up here, you’ve got some great views looking down on all of the action down below.

You’ll find ‘al fresco’ (sometimes…) dining at this venue onboard Cunard’s latest cruise ship, Queen Anne.

What’s the menu like at the Pavilion Wellness Cafe on a Cunard cruise?

This was my biggest question before boarding the ship - what would the menu be like? The overall vibe here is that the food is nutritious and nurturing, with the menu featuring lots of plant-based options. I was nervous that this venue might be better for the vegetarians and vegans among us, but there’s also a selection of meat, fish and dairy options on offer, too. In short, there’s probably something for everyone here.

You should expect the food here to be ‘lighter’ than your typical cruise ship fare. For that reason, if you’re coming here for lunch, I’d recommend maybe ordering a couple of dishes. Here’s the menu that’s on offer at the Pavilion Wellness Cafe, and I’ll show you some of the food later in this post.

Breakfast here is a pretty varied menu - you can opt for either a breakfast bowl, or a breakfast plate. There’s then a selection of ‘all day’ offerings that then kick in as the day progresses, or you can opt to build your own - it’s really flexible!

When is the Pavilion Wellness Cafe open?

You’ll find this venue open for breakfast from 8am - 11am, and then lunch from 12pm - 3pm. Unfortunately, the Pavilion Wellness Cafe isn’t open for dinner - it’s designed more as lighter poolside dining, rather than an evening meal.

Personally, I’d love to see something happen up here at night - to sit out here in the evening with the roof open could be such a lovely environment. Who knows - perhaps this will change in the future, especially when Queen Anne is cruising on warmer weather itineraries!

What drinks can I order while dining at the Pavilion Wellness Cafe?

There’s a full bar service on offer here, and the drinks will come from the bar next door to the cafe itself. Here’s the full drinks and bar menu on offer here:

So, what does the food look like?

I only ate here at lunch while I was onboard, so don’t have any photos of breakfast to show you. However, here’s what I ate across my lunches…

Up first, Beetroot borani, fennel, dill and orange slaw, and crispy lavash:

Next, how about ‘Crunchy Raw Thai’? In this, you’ve got Baby spinach, shredded kale, cabbage, edamame, chickpeas, carrot, coriander, spring onion and cashew satay.

Finally, how about Vadouvan and coconut dhal, topped with a poached hen’s egg?

My verdict? Genuinely, I really liked this venue! In my opinion, there are so many elements of Queen Anne that are so refreshing, and I think it’s great to see Cunard clearly trying new things. The Pavilion Wellness Cafe is one of these things, and it’s already been confirmed that this concept is being rolled out further into the fleet - I’m excited to see where this one goes!

The next ship to see this venue is Queen Elizabeth, with it due to be added during her 2025 refit.

Hopefully you’ve enjoyed having a deeper dive into the Pavilion Wellness Cafe, one of the new dining options available onboard Queen Anne.
