MSC Cruises
MSC Cruises is a European-based cruise line (headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland), and is currently operating one of the largest cruise operations on the planet! As a company, MSC have over 300 years of experience, but this isn’t all in passenger cruising - they spent many years as a freight shipping line, and then later launched into the current passenger market. The line currently operates a total of 23 cruise ships under the MSC brand, with a further 2 ships coming under the umbrella of their luxury subsidiary: Explora Journeys.
The following ships (in alphabetical order) are currently proudly operated by MSC Cruises: MSC Armonia, MSC Bellissima, MSC Divina, MSC Euribia, MSC Fantasia, MSC Grandiosa, MSC Lirica, MSC Magnifica, MSC Meraviglia, MSC Musica, MSC Opera, MSC Orchestra, MSC Poesia, MSC Preziosa, MSC Seascape, MSC Seashore, MSC Seaside, MSC Seaview, MSC Sinfonia, MSC Splendida, MSC Virtuosa, MSC World America (launching 2025) and MSC World Europa. Under the Explora Journeys umbrella, you’ll find both Explora I and Explora II, but we won’t be talking any more about these ships on this part of the website - let’s focus on MSC Cruises.
I’ve cruised on a wide range of MSC ships, from MSC Orchestra (one of the oldest in the whole fleet - she launched back in 2007!) to MSC World Europa (one of the newest - she launched in 2022!), and many more in between. I’ve cruised in many parts of Europe with this cruise line, in addition to the Middle East, the USA and Canada, so hopefully I can share my experiences with you in order to help you plan and make the most of your time onboard!
One key thing to note about cruising with MSC is that their ships are really varied - the experience you’re going to get on an older ship versus a newer ship is massively different, and so it’s important to do some background research before you book your cruise (I guess that’s why you’ve ended up here, so well done to you!). The fleet within MSC Cruises’ portfolio is really varied (which is a huge positive!), but you need to be clear about the type of cruise you want before choosing your ship. Don’t worry - I’ll tell you more about this as you explore my posts below and throughout the site!
