How much does it really cost to cruise in an Iconic Suite onboard a Celebrity Cruises ship?!

If you’ve found yourself on this post, you’re either looking to book an Iconic Suite for a future cruise or, if you’re more like me, you’re just really interested in knowing how much a cruise in this level of luxury would set you back financially.

To lay my cards on the table, I tend to book Interior / Inside cabins for the majority of my cruises (yes, the rooms with no windows). My reasoning for this is that if I can save money on my cruise fares, then that means I can get on more cruises - pretty easy maths, in my books! However, if money was less of an object, I would absolutely LOVE to one day experience a cruise in an Iconic Suite, onboard one of the cruise ships from Celebrity Cruises.

The initial reason that I wanted to put this article together is a bit of an unusual one. Captain Kate (a very famous Celebrity Cruises Captain) recently posted a video of an Iconic Suite on her TikTok account, but didn’t mention any prices. Instead, she closed her video saying that she was sure people in the comments would offer some numbers. I then went straight to the comments and couldn’t find numbers, so I chose to leave a quick comment and move on. A few weeks later, that comment has almost 1,000 likes, and so I thought it was time for me to do some research to figure out the numbers!

In this post, I’ll tell you more about the Iconic Suites, and also offer you an insight into the pricing of these rooms, based on my online research. Note: I’m not a travel agent - the price searching I’ve been doing has been on the Celebrity Cruises website, simply because I’m so intrigued by this room type! I’m also not going to try to sell you a cruise in this post - don’t worry!

First, what actually is an ‘Iconic Suite’, and which ships can I find them on? Well, simply put - an Iconic Suite is the name given to the room type which is the largest and most luxurious (according to Celebrity Cruises themselves) in the whole of the fleet. You’ll find these suites at the very front of the ship up on Deck 12 of the EDGE series of ships: that’s Apex, Ascent, Beyond, Edge and the upcoming Excel. They’re at the very front of the ship, and take prime position directly on top of the Bridge, and they command some absolutely incredible views as a result.

In the below photo, you can see these suites directly above the bridge. Believe it or not, there’s only two of them on the whole ship, so booking one of these suites gives you a room space the width of half of the whole ship! Amazing, right?!

These suites are absolutely enormous - they have a total floorspace of 1,892 Sq ft indoors and 689 Sq ft outdoors (yes, you read those numbers correctly!), they feature 2 bedrooms and they have 2 bathrooms too. In terms of floorplan, this room takes a few minutes to get your head around. Take a look at the image below, and then read on to learn more about the perks of this stateroom, and also the pricing involved…

Ok, it’s not just the room you’re booking here. Let’s talk about the perks that you also get as a direct result of booking an Iconic Suite. With booking this room type, you’re going to score a pile of benefits that ‘regular’ guests on the ship simply won’t receive:

  • Your own private Butler, contactable anytime via ‘Butler Chat’'

  • A Destination Experience Specialist to help you to plan your excursions

  • Suite-to-car escort by your Butler for private journeys

  • Shore Excursion departure lounge access for Suite guests

  • Premium in-stateroom amenities

  • Access to Luminae, the Suite-only restaurant

  • Complimentary access to the onboard Thermal Suite and Persion Garden

  • Complimentary daily laundry and unlimited pressing

  • Complimentary minibar

  • Exclusive Sleepwear

  • Complimentary speciality dining, including lunch (I love this benefit - why worry about cover charges/additional charges in restaurants?!)

As a guest in an Iconic Suite, you’re also automatically a guest of ‘The Retreat’ . On a Celebrity Cruises ship, ‘The Retreat’ is the name given to group all of the suites together. As a passenger staying in a suite-grade cabin, you automatically unlock access to all of the perks and venues associated with this label, including dining at Luminae (the suite-only restaurant), use of the Retreat Sundeck (yes, your own outside deck space just for Suite guests), and also The Retreat Lounge (you get the picture - you’re getting spoiled here, and it’s not just your private room that you’re getting access to…).

Like what you’re reading? Well, here’s some pictures of the Iconic Suite to tempt you eve further… I can’t get enough of those views from the bedroom!

Okay, you’ve heard about some of the perks and benefits of booking this stunning suite, and you’ve seen the pictures. Let’s now move on to the main topic - the price…

I’ve searched for availability of these Suites across a really wide range of dates and itineraries, and the reality is that the prices really fluctuate. Some itineraries are thousands of pounds/dollars more expensive than one a few weeks prior/after, and I can’t see any real reasons for this, but I guess that could be down to a whole host of things. Here’s a few examples of prices that I was able to source on the Celebrity Cruises website… Note: £ = GBP (British Pounds) and $ = US Dollars in the below examples!

1) Fancy a 7 night cruise to Tortola, Antigua and the Bahamas in an Iconic Suite onboard Celebrity Beyond? Well, you could sail on February 8th 2025 for 7 nights for £29,537 ($38,553) for two, which equates to £14,769 or $19,277 per person.

2) How about an 11-night cruise on Celebrity Beyond to the Panama Canal and the Southern Caribbean? This one might make your eyes water… You could book on January 13th 2025 for £65,442 ($85,419), which brings your per person price to £32,721, or $42,710.

3) One last example! I did think - could it be cheaper, or better value, to cruise in one of these suites on the other side of the Atlantic? This took my search over to Europe, and I opted to price this for a departure from my ‘home port’: Southampton, England. To take a 14 night cruise on Celebrity Apex on August 1st 2025 in an Iconic Suite, you’ll need to part with £57,808 ($75,454), which is £28,904 / $37,727 per person.

So, you started reading this article wondering how much it would cost to cruise in an Iconic Suite onboard a Celebrity Cruises ship, and now you have the answer - wow! Personally, you won’t be fighting me to book one of these rooms. Not yet, anyway…
